Galvinator - IsoJet Zinc System 2



QWP introduces their new ISOJET ZINC System 2. The Galvinator.

To date some of the most traditional ways of galvanizing have been:

  [1]  Hot Dip Galvanizing-usually for larger units. This method is normally done by metal refinishers/steel mills.
  [2]  Another method for smaller units/jobs is the Zinc Metal Spray. This is a very quick method. The Zinc Metal Spray is normally used for touch ups, when the Zinc coating on the metal has been destroyed, and has to be re-surfaced.

After talking to many Welding Distributors/End Users who use the Zinc Metal Spray, I have found that there are several concerns about the product.

 

[1]  The cans will from time to time, clog up.  Some of the distributors who I have talked to, have actually told me that they keep the cans up-side down, so as to minimize the chance of this happening
  [2]  In some cases, 100% of the zinc spray that is intended to be sprayed on the work-piece is not, and a percentage of it escapes into the atmosphere.  This adds up as a loss of money to the end-user and eventually to the distributor, and also has a detrimental effect on our ecology.

QWP’s new Isojet Zinc System 2, (‘The Galvinator”) application is to surface/re-surface steel sheet.  When re-surfacing steel sheet, the surface must be ground cleaned of all oxides, before using the Isojet Zinc System 2.
The principle of the unit is that the torch head is made of 99.9% Zinc.  The Zinc is transferred onto the work piece using a Direct Current via the anode (Electrode), during the earthing process called cathode, using our electrolyte, ISOL ZG.

A pad is placed over the torch head, and is then dipped into the electrolyte; this will assure a good flowing transfer of the Zinc ions onto the work piece that is to be surfaced/re-surfaced.

The Isojet Zinc System 2 will give you a long lasting galvanized coating (high corrosion resistance) due to the almost pure zinc torch head, and with using our special formulated electrolyte.

Power Source:

The Isojet Zinc System 2 has been designed to be used with a standard DC High Frequency Stick/Tig Welding machine.

Electrolyte:  Isol ZG

The electrolyte has been specially designed to transfer a certain amount of zinc ions in using the DC Welder.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS:

  [1]  Read the MSDS's
  [2]  Read the Instructions
  [3]  Gloves must be worn opening/using/storing the system
  [4]  Goggles must be worn opening/using/storing the system
  [5]  There must be adequate ventilation (Fume Extractor if possible)
  [6]  If used in confined area (abide by OSHAS Specifications)
  [7]  All personnel in the area must be alerted that you are using the Isojet Zinc System
